Since then the language design has evolved and the compiler has gotten much more solid. Assorted extra info: - The C3 name is a homage to the C2 language project ( http://c2lang.org ) which it was originally inspired by. - Although C3 mostly conforms to C syntax, the most obvious change is requiring `fn` in front of the functions. This is to simplify searching for definitions in editors. - There is a comparison with some other languages here: https://ift.tt/I06xiCg - The parts in C3 which breaks C semantics or syntax: https://ift.tt/D7gNkf9 - Aside from the very C-like syntax, one the biggest difference between C3 and other "C competitors" is that C3 prioritizes C ABI compatibility, so that all C3 special types (such as slices and optionals) can be used from C without any effort. C and C3 can coexist nicely in a code base. - Currently the standard library is not even alpha quality, it's actively being built, but there is a `libc` module which allows accessing all of libc. New Show Hacker News story: Show HN: Movis – A Video Editing Library in Python

Show HN: Movis – A Video Editing Library in Python 2 by rezoolab | 0 comments on Hacker News. Originally, this library was created due to my motivation to make videos in Python. Of course, I considered other Python libraries, but I decided to create a new library for video editing because I needed the following features and also for study purposes: - The existence of composition. Especially, the ability to perform advanced video editing by inserting compositions within compositions. - The ability to add animations based on keyframes. - Effects like chroma key and drop shadow. - A caching mechanism to render the same frame quickly. - Various blending modes. These features, despite being standard in proprietary video editing software, were not present in previous Python libraries. Currently, I am using this library to automatically generate videos from raw materials. I would be grateful for any comments, thoughts, or requests.
